# 1.  Using Key9 "registration" to register a new Yubikey PIN.

1. Login to your Key9 site and navigate to "My Profile" and then "Register New Passkey".

2. If you want to register a Passkey on your Yubikey device,  then give it a name that you can recognize later.   If the purpose is to only PIN protect your Yubikey,  the device name is not important.&#x20;

3. Once you hit "Continue",  you'll be presented with a screen asking "where" to store the "Passkey".   You will want to select "Use a different phone, tablet, or security key"

4. You will be presented with a QR code.   At this point,  key press your Yubikey.&#x20;

5. At this point,  if your device is not PIN protected, you will be prompted to assign a PIN.
