# 3. Enrolling your public key to Key9

The SSH public key needed for Key9 enrollment will be stored in your home directory under a directory named `.ssh.` Type:

`cd .ssh`

You'll want to copy the contents of "id\_ed25519\_sk.pub". For example, on a MacOS/Linux system, you can do the following:

`type id_ed25519_sk.pub`

Copy and paste the contents of the `id_ed25519_sk.pub`&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/hYtZ05Jlo0R8xaQD7OBm" alt=""><figcaption><p>Example of copying the id_ed25519_sk.pub public key.</p></figcaption></figure>

Login into Key9 and in the top right corner will be your name with a “pull down” menu option.  Pull that down and go to “My Profile”.  Once in your profile,  select “Add SSH Key” (right of “SSH Keys”).&#x20;

Give your new key a name and copy/paste the public key.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.k9.io/key9-identity/ssh/installation-and-setup/windows-powershell-with-yubikey-fido2-protected-ssh-keys/3.-enrolling-your-public-key-to-key9.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
